I've tried over the years to make cobblers: peach… blueberry… strawberry... You name the cobbler; there is probably a tombstone somewhere with its name on it.
Attempt after attempt, I have never gotten close to the cobblers I remembered growing up- with sweet fruit layers bubbling up under a crunchy flaky crust. Just talking about it brings back memories of the cute little grannies that made cobblers every Sunday after church.
I always over-complicate things, mainly when I try to make cobbler. I generally end up with fruit bread or undercooked dough with gooey fruit: no bueno. In fact, I'm staring at nameless fruit bread number 2 right now. Another recipe I'm working through of course... more to come on this one once I get it out of the fruit bread stage LOL.
Thanks to the weekend, I was able to make a simple recipe that I really loved.
What’s the main thing that makes this cobbler great? 5 ingredients- 5 clean simple ingredients.
Want to know what else rocked about this cobbler? The fact that I could put these 5 ingredients together and go do something else. I would say something productive like laundry… but I caught up with Arya and the Faceless God instead.
